Recovering your Lost Dreams

There are so many people who wake up and just know that they have been dreaming (used to happen to me often) but they can not recall who, what, when, or where - they just know that they had a dream. Here at Dream Expressions we are dedicated to working with you and your dreams.

In order to do that the first step is dream recall, which is why we have dedicated so much time and gathered a considerable amount of information which includes many different techniques to assist in retrieval of dreams. Let’s face it, without the recollection of our dreams, dream interpretation is limited at best.

Dream Recall & Lost Dream Techniques:
First and foremost – you have to want it. You must feel that it will be useful to you. You must know it will happen for you. Without this, motivation will soon fade away. The motivation and desire serve as a magnet that draws your dreams into a more vivid memory.

Bedtime Practice:
A. as you go to bed, bring yourself to a calm, comfortable relaxed state and begin to clearly instruct yourself to remember your dreams when you awaken and remind yourself that it's a natural process that you will accomplish. Remind yourself that you will remember your dreams. This method (as with most) works well with practice

B. any time you wake up, try to keep your eyes closed and remain as still as you possibly can (some suggest that if you have moved since waking, you should try and return to your waking body position) during this time you want to capture as many images, feelings and impressions that you can, then when you are comfortable with what you have recalled, get up and write what you have in your dream journal (which you should keep at your bedside), some use a tape recorder. Remember that no matter how silly, brief or obscure they may seem at first every thing you remember and write down may aide your dream recall as you write (or speak).

C. Persistence and Patience are the Key! Remember that even though most people start having success during the first week or two, dream recall may require some time to get into the habits necessary to be successful. Try and maintain a relaxed and playful perspective, look forward to your dreams and be willing to let them come in their time. If you try too hard or become too serious you could end up limiting yourself. Dream recall and motivation seem to come and go naturally in cycles, and can be affected by what else is going on in your life. Try to give each technique of recall that you want to work with at least a few days, a week is probably fair, and decide which works best for you.
