Day Dreams
An Introduction to Day Dreams

We all have day dreams from time to time. Day dreams fall into two categories: One kind of day dream is when we intentionally make it up as we are wishing or imagining something special in our lives. For example when we imagine ourselves driving around in our dream car, sailing on that boat you always wanted, even planning out the renovations of the dream home you always wanted. The other kind of day dream is one that just happens. When you drift off and then suddenly pop back into consciousness and realize that you have been far off in a day dream.

Day dreams occur during the wakeful state and are different from lucid dreaming even though the first kind of day dream we discussed is deliberate, we are not in a state of sleep which is key when lucid dreaming is attained. (see more on lucid dreaming).

Daydreaming can often be neglected when we think about analyzing our dreams. This misconception that many have can really affect dream work. Day dreams carry just as much importance as any other type of dream, like most dreams it is the unlocking of the subconscious which may be telling us something we need to hear. A lot of the time a daydream can be the reactions to what is going on, as most daydreams are about everyday happenings, solving problems in a personal relationship, what is going on with the kids, what is happening at work, things that have happened in your past, all are you’re your dreams of all kinds are made of.
